Small Mamezara from the Mid-Edo Period
When firing pottery in the kiln, pieces were stacked with small bits of clay placed between them to prevent sticking.
These marks, known as me-ato, are a signature of old ceramics.
This small dish features warm textures and colors,
with an uneven glaze that harmonizes beautifully.
Though modest in size, it holds a strong presence.
From the distant Edo period long ago,
this piece invites you to observe, feel, and enjoy its story.
A truly wonderful vessel.
Size: W73mm × D73mm × H15mm
